Sarah Stanko, M.D.
Dr. Sarah Stanko is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for children and families. She has experience caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings. She was naturally drawn to pediatrics by the joy, authenticity, and adaptability that make caring for children so rewarding.
Dr. Sarah earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine in 2018 and completed her pediatric residency training at the University of Arizona in 2021. After several years away for training, she and her husband, Dr. Trent Winkel, returned home to Reno to raise their family in the community they both love. Dr. Winkel is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult arthroplasty with Great Basin Orthopedics. Both Sarah and Trent are proud Reno natives and graduates of Reno High School.
In January 2026, Dr. Sarah and her husband welcomed their first child, a baby girl, adding a personal perspective to her role as a pediatrician and parent advocate.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Sarah enjoys traveling, attending live music events, spending time with family and friends and enjoying the beauty of Lake Tahoe.
